got it - thanks a mil -

in the process I downloaded a winamp (lite) for the 1st time - got scared when most of my wma music files (mp.3s, low fi but high bit rate - easy to make party burns anyways) turned into shns (?) so I played the original mix several times then restored system to 3 days ago...

did I miss a default choice... or is this actually a good thing, when music file icons change to lightning bolts?

Windows XP pc is new for me, mostly self taught apple a day user!

;-D

Not to digress, but does anyone also have the original mix for "Anthem Of The Sun" to share also? It had a nicer mix IMO than the remastered re-release. I love the original "Aoxomoxoa" mix. Used to have the vinyl album back in the early '70's and always missed that "Mountains Of The Moon" choir and the extended ending on "Doin' That Rag". Strange that Jerry chose to mix so much of the wierdness out of it. Maybe he was trying to make it more palatable for the uninitiated if that was ever possible.

one thing you can do here is listen to some of the live shows Anthem of the Sun used pieces of,
such as the 1968-02-14 Alligator:

"Caution dates from the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium show on 11/10/67.
Extended excerpts from two shows at Kings Beach Bowl in Lake Tahoe, CA on 2/23-24/68 that provided music for the album (most notably the car horn heard at the end of Caution were later released on the live archival recording Dick's Picks Volume 22.

A further show from this period whose contents were used on Anthem Of The Sun, hailing from 3/16/68, was released as the Grateful Dead Download Series Volume 6."
